Biography
I am a printmaker and painter.
I paint vibrant scenes of people and places from my own experience. My paintings explore light, either coming through trees or bouncing off water. I like to capture the mood of a scene by using bright colours and loose brush strokes. I want people to feel happy when they look at my paintings.
Many of my prints are of landscapes and cityscapes but I also enjoy depicting children's interaction with their environment. I want my print to capture the atmosphere of the moment.
I grew up in New York City and studied at the High School of Music and Art. I then switched to science, moved to England, obtained my PhD from Cambridge University and became a research scientist at the National Institute for Medical Research. I took up painting in 2005 and now paint full-time.
I was delighted to be selected to exhibit my print, "Toe in the Water", at the Annual Open Exhibition of the Society of Women Artists held at the Mall Gallery, London in 2017. I was also selected to exhibit my prints at the Cambridge Original Printmakers Biennale, in Cambridge in 2016 and 2018. I was invited to exhibition, with 10 other printmakers, at the Printmaking Unwrapped exhibition at the Avondale Gallery in North London in 2015.
I have had two big exhibitions of my paintings at the Gallery of the Crypt of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London (2013 and 2014) and another at the National Institute for Medical Research, London (2011). I have participated in group exhibitions at the Camden Image Gallery and the Strand Gallery in London (2014 and 2015) and also have prints and paintings hanging in several locations in North London.
A selection of my artwork is displayed in this website.
